The Easter Story

Once upon a time, a long, long time ago, there was a man named Jesus who lived in a place called Israel. Jesus was a very special man because he was the Son of God.

Jesus spent his time teaching people about God’s love and performing miracles like healing the sick and feeding the hungry. Many people followed Jesus and believed in him, but not everyone was happy about it. The leaders of the time were afraid that Jesus would become too powerful and they wanted to get rid of him.

One day, Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey, and many people came out to greet him. They shouted, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” But the leaders were angry and jealous, and they arrested Jesus and put him on trial.

They found him guilty and sentenced him to death by crucifixion. This was a terrible punishment where a person was nailed to a cross and left to die. Jesus was nailed to the cross and died, and his followers were heartbroken.

But the story doesn’t end there. Three days later, something amazing happened. Jesus’ followers went to his tomb, where his body had been laid to rest, and found that the tomb was empty! They were confused and scared, but then they saw Jesus. He had risen from the dead!

Jesus appeared to his followers and proved to them that he was alive. He told them that he had to die so that their sins could be forgiven, and that he had risen from the dead to show that there was hope and new life.

And so, every year, Christians around the world celebrate Easter to remember the incredible story of Jesus’ death and resurrection. They remember that even though things might seem hopeless, there is always hope and new life through Jesus.
