Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Cindy who was starting a new school after the summer break. Cindy had always been a little bit shy, and the thought of starting a new school made her very nervous and scared. Her parents noticed her struggle and tried to make her feel better. They visited the school a couple of times during the break, so Cindy would know what it looked like. They talked about the challenges she might face on her first day and they promised her that they would leave extra early on her first day and they would walk her in. This way she would have enough time to meet her teachers, see the school layout and set up her locker.
As the first day of school approached, Cindy couldn’t stop thinking about all the unknowns – what would her new classmates be like? Would she make any friends? Would she be able to keep up with her new teachers?
But despite her nerves, Cindy was determined to make the most of her new school. She packed her backpack with all her supplies, set out her clothes for the next day, and went to bed early, hoping to get a good night’s sleep.
The next morning, Cindy woke up early and got ready for school. She put on her new uniform and packed a healthy lunch, just like her mom had taught her. “Ok mom and dad, I’m ready…” she whispered to her parents. They took her hand and as they walked to school together, Cindy tried to stay positive and think about all the exciting things that might happen that day.
When she arrived at school, Cindy was greeted by a friendly teacher who showed her around and introduced her to some of the other kids. Cindy was still a little bit nervous, but she smiled and said hello, trying to be friendly.
As the day went on, Cindy slowly started to feel more comfortable in her new surroundings. Everybody was very kind to her. The kids asked her questions, showed her everything she needed to know and they included her in all the activities. She even made some new friends, and even though she struggled a bit with some of her new subjects, she was determined to keep trying.
As the day came to an end and Cindy walked home with her new friends, she realized that starting a new school wasn’t as scary as she had thought it would be. She was excited to come back the next day and see what the rest of the year had in store for her!
