Stories about dancing



Dance has always been a part of human culture, and there are many different short stories about dancing from around the world. Here are some stories of dancing for kids that are sure to get them moving and grooving!

The first story about dancing is from ancient Greece, and it is about a man named Orpheus. Orpheus was a great musician and his wife, Eurydice, was a beautiful dancer. One day, Eurydice was bitten by a snake and died. Orpheus was so heartbroken that he went to the underworld to try and bring her back. He played his music and danced so beautifully that the gods were moved and allowed him to take Eurydice back to the land of the living.

Another story is about an Indian princess named Shakuntala. One day, while she was out dancing in a field, a sage named Kanva saw her and was instantly smitten. He asked her to marry him, but Shakuntala was already promised to another man. Kanva was so heartbroken that he turned her into a statue. However, when Shakuntalas husbandtobe came and prayed for her, she was brought back to life and they lived happily ever after.

These are just two of the many dancing stories from around the world that kids are sure to love. So get up and start dancing you never know, you might just end up in your own fairy tale!
