But the apples just laughed. “You’re a yuzu, Yu,” they said. “No one knows what that is!”
Feeling sad and a little bit lost, Yu went to visit his wise old friend, the lemon. “Lemon,” he said, “I want to be as popular as the apples. What should I do?”
The lemon smiled and said, “Yu, you don’t need to be like the apples. You just need to be the best yuzu you can be. You see, you are unique and special. Your skin is bumpy and rough, and it has a strong, citrusy aroma. And when you’re ripe, your juicy flesh is a combination of sweet and sour. That’s what makes you special, Yu. Embrace it and share it with the world!”
Yu was delighted to hear this, and set out to share his unique characteristics with the world. He traveled from village to village, telling everyone about the delicious taste and unique texture of yuzu. People were amazed by the new fruit they had never heard of before, and soon everyone was talking about the little yuzu named Yu.
