This is Pako the Pigeon.
Pako goes, “Coo! Coo!”
She flies and spreads out her wings.
She loves to fly over Namwayi and Dairine’s house as they play crisscross every day.
Coo! Coo!
Pako! Pako!
Namwayi and Dairine love to imitate Pako.
They spread their little hands and run around the house.
One day, Pako did not fly over the house as usual.
Where could she be?
Dairine, Namwayi and the cat looked for Pako in the garden, but she was not there.
They looked in the sky and they could not see Pako anywhere.
This made them very sad.
Cat called to Pako:
Meow! Meow!
Cat heard Pako reply, and followed the sound.
Coo! Coo!
Oh no! Pako was caught in a thicket.
Not to worry, I have soft and tender paws. See!
Cat gently took Pako to Namwayi and Dairine.
They could see that Pako had hurt her wing.
Pako’s wing was very sore, but the girls took good care of her.
With Mum’s help, Namwayi and Dairine bandaged Pako’s wing to help her heal quickly.
Coo! Coo!
When Pako healed, she flew home. But she would fly to the girls’ window each morning.
The girls would shout, “Good morning Pako!”
Meow! Meow!
