Hippo Wants to Dance

Summary

Hippo Wants to Dance is a short story by Bookdash about a hippo who simply cannot stop herself from moving — thumping on dusty ground, splashing in the river, and twirling through fields — only to be scolded and sent away by every animal she disturbs. Told through bouncy sound words and a gentle rhythm, the story follows Hippo as her joy turns to sadness, until a small, unexpected friend changes everything. Main characters include Hippo, the well-meaning dancer, and Grasshopper, whose tiny hop carries more heart than it seems.
