The Owl And The Cat

Once upon a time, in a land far away, there lived an Owl and a cat who were the best of friends. They shared the most curious and fantastic adventures and dreamt of exploring the world together. One day, they decided to embark on a great journey across the sea, setting off in a beautiful pea-green boat.

As they sailed away, the Owl brought along some honey, and the Cat brought plenty of money, all wrapped up in a five-pound note. They were so excited for the journey ahead! As the night fell, the Owl looked up to the twinkling stars above and serenaded the Cat with a song, playing his small guitar:

“O lovely Car, O Cat, my love,
What a beautiful Cat you are,
You are,
You are!
What a beautiful Cat you are!”

The Cat blushed and replied, “You elegant fowl, how charmingly sweet you sing! Oh! Let us be married; too long we have tarried: But what shall we do for a ring?”

Determined to find a ring, they sailed away for a year and a day, to the land where the bong-tree grows. There, they discovered a mysterious wood and met a curious creature, a Piggy-wig, who had a ring at the end of his nose.

“Dear Pig, are you willing to sell for one shilling your ring?” they asked. The Piggy-wig nodded and said, “I will.”

They took the ring and were married the very next day by the Turkey who lived on a nearby hill. Their wedding feast was a joyous occasion, with mince and slices of quince, which they ate with a runcible spoon.

As the sun began to set, the newlyweds took each other’s hand and stepped onto the edge of the sand. There, under the enchanting light of the moon, they danced and danced, celebrating their love and the magical adventure they had shared.

They danced by the light of the moon,
The moon,
The moon,
They danced by the light of the moon.

And so, the Owl and the Cat, bound by love and friendship, continued their adventures together, hand in hand, hearts intertwined, dancing under the moonlight, forever and always.
